Al-Obaidli, Director General of the Office of the Ministers of Labor and Social Affairs in the Gulf States

His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Hassan Al-Obaidli, former Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Labor in the State of Qatar, assumed his duties as Director-General of the Executive Office of the Council of Ministers of Labor and the Council of Ministers of Social Affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The Ministers of Labor and Social Affairs of the GCC countries approved in Muscat last September, at the conclusion of the ninth meeting of the ministerial committees designated for Labor and Social Affairs, the appointment of Al-Obaidli as Director-General of the Executive Office of the Council for the period from January 2024 for a period of four years, making him the first Qatari to hold this position. It was occupied by Dr. Amer bin Muhammad Al-Hajri from the Sultanate of Oman.
For his part, Al-Obaidli stressed his endeavor, during his assumption of his new position, to strengthen the position of the Executive Office as a Gulf technical arm that supports the directions of the Ministers of Labor and Ministers of Social Affairs in the GCC countries, stressing the role of the Office in supporting joint Gulf action through developing a number of activities and programs carried out by the Office in cooperation with ministries and bodies. and related institutions.
Al-Obaidli pointed out that: “He closely touched upon the work of the Executive Office during his tenure at the Ministry of Labor in the State of Qatar. He witnessed part of the Office’s practical journey and formed a close connection with the activities, programs and technical and ministerial meetings provided by the Executive Office at various Gulf, Arab and international levels.”
Al-Obaidli said: “The directives of the Ministers of Labor and Ministers of Social Affairs of the GCC countries that were issued at their last meeting in Muscat focused on pushing the Executive Office’s journey forward by working to develop joint Gulf work programs in the labor and social fields in a way that serves the activities and objectives of the Ministries of Labor and Ministries of Social Affairs in the GCC countries.” In developing human resources and social care at the level of countries in the region, as well as enhancing the position of member states during their participation in Arab and international conferences and forums.
Al-Obaidli pointed out that the Executive Office receives unlimited support from member states and direct attention to improving the services of this Gulf organization, and its constant emphasis on the importance of its continuing to perform its role to the fullest in meeting the aspirations of the leaders of the GCC countries and achieving the aspirations of citizens towards a comprehensive development renaissance that achieves the common interests of the people of the GCC countries. Gulf Cooperation Council, adding that: “The countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council pay great attention to labor and social affairs files, including the establishment of the Executive Office, where member states have taken many steps in order for their laws, procedures and systems to be in line with the requirements stipulated in international obligations, especially those stipulating by the International Labor Organization.
Al-Obaidli also praised the role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in promoting and supporting cooperation and joint work in the Gulf Cooperation Council, since Bahrain hosted the office’s headquarters in 1978, pointing out that the facilities and services provided by the Kingdom to the Executive Office, which reflect its commitment to achieving many Gulf achievements at the level of the work and affairs sectors. Social Affairs, expressing its sincere thanks and appreciation to the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain for its warm hospitality, generous hospitality, and facilities granted to the Executive Office, which had a great impact in facilitating the office’s work tasks.
In addition, Al-Obaidli praised the sincere and tireless efforts made by Dr. Amer Al-Hajri during his tenure as Director General of the Executive Office of the Council of Labor Ministers and the Council of Ministers for Social Development Affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, in promoting joint Gulf action by implementing the visions and aspirations of Their Excellencies the Ministers of Labor and the Ministers of Social Affairs.
