The Higher Committee of the 8th GCC Theatre Festival for Persons with Disabilities affirmed the importance of accelerating organizational and technical preparations to deliver a high-quality edition that reflects the Gulf’s pioneering experience in inclusive theatre.
This came during the second meeting of the Higher Committee for preparation and organization, held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, via virtual communication, with the participation of relevant stakeholders to discuss the meeting agenda and review the latest developments.
The meeting addressed several key areas, including a presentation on the festival and its proposed program, discussions on the date and venue of the festival, and a review of proposed theatre spaces and their suitability for performances, in addition to technical and production requirements.
The committee also discussed the accompanying events planned alongside the festival, aimed at enhancing its cultural and social impact, as well as reviewing key organizational requirements and other emerging matters related to ongoing preparations.
This meeting comes as part of coordinated efforts among relevant entities to ensure the successful delivery of a distinguished edition of the festival, reinforcing theatre as a tool for empowerment and inclusion for persons with disabilities, and reflecting the GCC’s continued commitment to supporting inclusive cultural and social initiatives.
