The Executive Office of the Labor Council participates in the 112th session of the International Labor Conference
The Executive Office of the Council of Labor Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries participated in the 112th session of the International Labor Conference, which began on June 2, 2024 in the Swiss city of Geneva.
On the sidelines of the conference, the office held a number of coordination meetings for the Gulf delegations participating in the conference. The office organized a preliminary meeting for the Gulf government delegations participating in the conference, which was chaired by the State of Qatar, at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
In the context of coordination and consultation with employers’ and workers’ organizations, the Executive Office also held a meeting of senior officials in the Gulf ministries of labor with representatives of Gulf employers and workers participating in the conference.
The Director General of the Executive Office, His Excellency Mohammed Al Obaidli, also met with the Director General of the International Labor Organization.
The office had signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Training Center of the International Labor Organization to develop training programs in accordance with the priorities of the GCC countries.
In a special session devoted to discussing the Palestinian issue, His Excellency the Director General expressed the joint Gulf speech in support of the workers of Palestine. The Director General also met with His Excellency Dr. Enas Al-Attari, Minister of Labor of Palestine.
In a speech to the Executive Office at the high-level session on social justice, he announced in his speech that the Office had joined the coalition and its desire to cooperate to enhance its programs and activities.
