The Executive Bureau of the Council of Ministers of Labour and the Council of Ministers of Social Affairs of the GCC held, on Tuesday, 10 February 2026, the first meeting of focal points for the “Athar” platform via video conference, with the participation of representatives from Ministries of Labour and Ministries of Social/Social Development across GCC member states.

The meeting aimed to introduce participants to the Athar platform and highlight ways to benefit from its services and reports, in addition to clarifying the role of focal points in supporting and developing the platform through the provision of reports and statistical data. Discussions also focused on enhancing the exchange of policies and successful practices among member states, as well as strengthening the use of artificial intelligence to support knowledge and policy development across the region.
