The Executive Bureau of the Council of Ministers of Labor and Social Affairs in GCC countries convened the third meeting of the International Cooperation Committee on Social Affairs via videoconference, with the participation of representatives from the GCC Secretariat General and the ministries of social and developmental affairs in the member states. The meeting forms part of broader efforts to strengthen the GCC’s engagement in regional and international forums and to align national policies with emerging global trends in social development.

Participants discussed ongoing preparations for the 45th Session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, including coordination of GCC positions on the agenda items and the identification of priority areas for joint Arab social action in light of current regional developments.

The meeting also reviewed the key outcomes of the Second World Summit for Social Development, particularly the international initiatives and contemporary approaches related to social protection, empowerment of vulnerable groups, and human rights–based social policies. Discussions focused on translating these outcomes into joint GCC programs and enhancing partnerships with international organizations to support member states’ efforts in these areas.
