Extraordinary GCC Meeting Addresses Continuity of Social Services for Vulnerable Groups Amid Current Conditions

The Executive Bureau of the Council of Ministers of Labour and Ministers of Social Affairs in the GCC, in collaboration with the GCC General Secretariat, convened an extraordinary meeting of the Committee of Social Affairs and Development Experts to discuss the response and preparedness of member states in light of the exceptional circumstances facing the region.

The meeting reviewed key measures and actions taken by GCC countries to ensure the continuity of social services for all beneficiaries, with a particular focus on the most vulnerable groups, including the elderly, children, and persons with disabilities.

Participants also discussed efforts to enhance the readiness of social systems to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of service delivery in addressing current challenges, within a framework of coordination and integration among member states.

This meeting reflects the shared commitment to strengthening the resilience of social protection systems across GCC countries and ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of essential services to beneficiaries under all circumstances.
