Kuwait held an official celebration of the International Day of Older Persons, under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Amthal Hadi Al-Huwaila, Minister of Social Affairs and Family and Childhood Affairs, in cooperation with the Executive Bureau of the Council of Ministers of Labour and Ministers of Social Affairs in the GCC and the GCC Statistical Center.

The event brought together senior officials from GCC ministries of social and development affairs, highlighting the region’s shared commitment to supporting older persons. The program honored distinguished Kuwaiti seniors for their contributions across various fields, and featured displays of innovative products designed to meet their needs.

The celebration also showcased GCC experiences in advancing the well-being of older persons through community initiatives, legislation, and policies that safeguard their rights and dignity. The event reflected a collective Gulf effort to strengthen social policies and recognize the value of older persons as an integral part of society.
