The Executive Bureau of the Council of Ministers of Labor and Social Affairs participated in a high-level meeting on the progress made in implementing the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action after 30 years, hosted by the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Social Development, in partnership with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the League of Arab States, and UN Women.

The twelfth session of the Committee on Women, affiliated with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), addressed topics related to the implementation of the ESCWA Programme of Work, gender equality issues and the Sustainable Development Goals, recommendations issued by the Committee at its eleventh session, supporting the Subcommittee on Gender Equality and Sustainable Development Goals, and national actions to implement the recommendations issued by the Committee on Women at its eleventh session.
