On Monday, April 6, 2026, the Executive Bureau organized a virtual workshop on the regulation of hazardous and arduous work in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, with the participation of specialists from member states.

The workshop aimed to review national experiences in regulating this type of work. Participants discussed legislative frameworks and applied procedures, as well as efforts related to occupational safety and social protection.

The discussions also addressed defining the concept of hazardous and arduous work, identifying the types of risks associated with it, and exploring ways to further develop relevant policies and legislation. These efforts seek to enhance worker protection while keeping pace with the evolving labor markets across GCC countries.
