Workshop on Proactive Skill Forecasting for Gulf Labor Markets

Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, represented by the Skills and Training Agency, in collaboration with the Executive Bureau of the Council of Ministers of Labor and Social Affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council, held a workshop on the initiative to monitor and forecast future skills in the Gulf labor markets. The International Labor Organization also actively participated in the event.
The workshop was organized as part of Saudi Arabia’s presidency of the Gulf Skills Team to implement workforce development initiatives for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, in line with the objectives of the Ministerial Labor Committee Strategy (2024-2029).
The workshop aimed to learn from and benefit from the experiences of Gulf countries regarding skill forecasting systems. It also sought to prepare a report on Gulf practices and leading international experiences in monitoring and forecasting the skills required in the labor market, as well as future skill projections.
